Remembering The Fallen 2011

***************************

***************************

Hello from Cornwall on this day of Remembrance for all who have sacrificed their lives to protect their homelands......

Sent to a Sweetheart in Sussex, England

'Love from Frank'

Daddy, dear, we pray each night. And think so much of you. And you know, dear Daddy, don't you, That our love is ever true
'From Lilly with love to Daddy'

If I had wings, do you know what I would do? I'd fly o'er hills and valleys to you: But as I can't fly, I send through the post, This card to the one, I'm thinking of most

KATHLEEN MAVOURNEEN
*********************************

Kathleen Mavourneen, the grey dawn is breaking. The Horn of the hunter is heard on the hill; The Lark from her light wing the bright dew is shaking. Kathleen Mavourneen, what slumbering still?

Oh! hast thou forgotten how soon we must sever? Oh! hast thou forgotten this day we must part? It may be for years and it may be forever, Oh! why art thou silent thou voice of my heart? It may be for years and it may be forever, Then why art thou silent, Kathleen Mavourneen?

Kathleen Mavourneen, awake from thy slumbers, The Blue Mountains glow in the sun's golden light. Ah! where is the spell that once hung on numbers? Arise in thy beauty, thou star of my night. Arise in thy beauty, thou star of my night

Mavourneem, Mavourneen, my sad tears are falling, To think that from Erin and thee I must part; It may be for years and it may be forever. Then why art thou silent, thou voice of my heart? Then why art thou silent, thou voice of my heart?

On a lighter note, humerous postcards were also sent. No matter what is sent to try us, humour makes us smile......

I wish you all peace and happiness on this day...Until next time, take care...Hugs Chrissy xx

Blessings On All Hallows Eve

**************************

**************************

Just a 'Flying' Visit to wish you all a magical Halloween....Enjoy and be safe...

Jack-O-Lantern, Jack-O-Lantern,
You are such a funny sight.

As you sit there by the window,

Looking out into the night.
You were once a sturdy pumpkin,

Growing on a curly vine.

Now you are a Jack-O-Lantern,
See your night lights shine

The hag is astride tonight
This night for to ride,
The Devil and shee together.
Through thick and through thin,
Now out, and then in,
Though ne'r so foule be the weather.

~ Robert Herrick - 1648 ~

Until next time, take care...Hugs Chrissy xx

Getting Ready For Halloween

*****************

*****************

Greetings from Cornwall and are you ready for Halloween? I am already getting in the mood, which started Friday night with a party at a friend's house. Followed by watching two of my favourite films on Saturday night after a busy day visiting my grandees...

I love this time of year, a feeling of expectation fills the air as the sun shines and a chilly wind blows the leaves around...a time to prepare for Trick or Treat.

~~~~~~~
I have already treated myself by buying some lovely Witch Hat Ornies that also smell divine...
Witch Hat Ornies from enchanted.hearts on Ebay
I know I could have made something similar but I just don't have the time at the moment...and I couldn't resist these..lol..
I would now like to intoduce you to some of my fellow house residents who will share Halloween with me plus some other bits and bobs. However, tomorrow night they will have to fly without me because I'm off to another party....but not before I've wished 'Happy Halloween' to the Trick and Treaters that may visit my house. Thankfully I have not had any tricks played on me since living in Cornwall, touch wood..
